Getting Off The Computer and Losing Weight
I do a lot of work on the computer. It hurts to blog about this but the truth is I’m lazy way to much and that laziness impacts my weight loss. In fact, I do too much work on the computer. I’m on my summer break trying to generate some more revenue but the bad thing is my sleeping schedule is messed up and I’m working out 1/2 the time I used to. Well that stops today. I’m going to go to the local middle school football yard and running sprints. I’m also going to do some pushups, jump rope, and curls to get some all around workout in me. Once you start getting in better shape, you can’t let it go, you just can’t. The mountain can make you pause sometimes, but never stop.
I’m all for setting goals and invoking a positive mindset, but you have to be serious about them. The idea of turning over a New Leaf when the the New Year strikes is a little bit disingenuous to me, but if it works for you, then it works and that’s what counts. If it doesn’t work for you, you need to realize that you don’t need any milestone or date to start becoming more healthy. You just need to start adopting a better lifestyle. It doesn’t have to be drastic either. Start off by ditching soda for water and go from there. If you’re looking for fast weight loss, realize that people who lose weight the fastest also have a tendency to gain it back the fastest. Why? They lost it so fast because that they’re lifestyle wasn’t altered that much. So sometimes slow weight loss is better. It helps become something you embody.
This is something that can be a big challenge in your life so dedicate your power to it. You know if you’re taking losing weight seriously or if you’re kidding yourself. Watching your calories is a big time way to shed some of those extra pounds. You want to eat a healthy amount of calories relative to your individual situation. If you’re over that amount, simply start chipping away at some of the bad calories you’re getting. Drop a bag of chips here. Ignore an ice cream bar there. Substitute the vegetables for fries and the calories really start adding up. That’s at least 400 calories just off those 4 items. And if something you’re eating that’s not good for you doesn’t taste good, then put it down. There’s no sense in eating something that tastes bad and is bad for you. Finally, blogging about all this stuff really helps me loose weight because it helps me have a conscious about what I’m eating and how much I’m exercising.
Blogs on Weight Loss
Different people attack losing weight differently. I compiled a list of the best weight loss blogs I found while surfing the net. So many people have great stories and great tips, they definitely are worthy of all the attention they get. For one, PastaQueen is a really cool site. She has lost about half her weight in 2 1/2 years. Plus, I really think her website name is cool. I also liked LessJess. She gives some really good tips on her site and her writing is very fun to read. Another really good blog is Johnisfit. Today he wrote about some of the same websites you need to be on the lookout for. He is just a genuinely good blogger.
So many of us are looking for that miracle cure to losing weight, but we lose sight of what actually helps us lose weight: Change. If you want to make a big move in your weight, you’ve got to change your habits to reflect that. You need to cut out the late night eating and the other bad habits you have accummulated over the years and adopt a healthy lifestyle. Diet and fatloss have become the focus big focuses of mine and I think its going to help me loose weight this summer.
If you get no exercise whatsoever, start walking 25 minutes a day. That will definitely get some positive changes going. If walking becomes too easy for you, move into briskly walking to help burn calories and fat. Get a good sweat going and you know you’re getting something accomplished.
Also remember that water is plentiful. You can have as much water as your heart desires. Water has no calories, no sugar, no fat, no nothing. So if you’re thirsty instead of reaching for a soda, grab a bottled water. Fruit and vegetables will be good add-ons to your diet as well. These provide much needed nutriets for your body to convert into a more efficient and healthy machine. Usually getting protein isn’t a problem in our diets, but when you do consume protein, try to make sure you are getting lean meats or less fatty foods rather than fast food hamburgers or fried chicken nuggets.
Another healthy tip is to check labels on the food you buy at the grocery store. This forces you to be aware of what you’re putting in your body and take conscious efforts to improve your eating habits. Keeping track of all this with a journal or weight loss blog is a good start to getting in shape and finally getting healthy so you can fit into your jeans and feel vibrant and energetic again.
